Really Good Chocolate

I've found that treating myself is even more important, now that I'm dairy and soy free. I just need that extra little something decadent. Finding dairy-free chocolate isn't that hard, but finding chocolate that also happens to be soy-free can be challenging. Lucky for us, there is some excellent, organic, and fairy traded chocolate bars that fit the bill. Introducing Equal Exchange Chocolates!
Not all of their chocolate bars are dairy and soy free. Of course you have to avoid the milk chocolate varieties. But they do have a good selection of "safe" chocolate. My personal favorites include:
  • Dark Chocolate with Almonds
  • Dark Chocolate with Pure Cocoa Nibs
  • Chocolate with Espresso Beans

Go ahead - have some chocolate!

  1. Hi! I just found your blog, and I'd recommend soyfreesales.com -- no affiliation, just a happy customer. I can have milk, but no soy, and I wasn't happy with the soy-free chocolate that I could find around here. The milk chocolate they sell is DELICIOUS. I've had to hide it so the rest of the family doesn't eat it all on me!

Also, they sell hypoallergenic cake and brownie mixes. I haven't tried the cake yet, but the brownies were SO GOOD. Everyone looked askance at brownies with no wheat, but they're as good or better then what I used to get at the grocery store, soy (and most other allergens) free, and perfect for when I don't want to bother baking from scratch.

  2. I just stumbled across this chocolate today! It's great. Yum. So much better than the other dairy/soy free options out there. It makes me so happy! It tastes like real chocolate, not chocolate flavored wax.

  3. Just discovered your blog--thank goodness, because I also love chocolate and have just been diagnosed as both dairy and soy intolerant. Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us newbies!

  4. I agree, this brand is awesome! I also really like Alter Eco. (Favorite flavors: Dark Quinoa (sounds weird, but it's like crisped rice) and Dark Twist (with crystalized orange peel)). I also recently discovered the 365 (Whole Foods store brand) dark chocolate and dark chocolate with coconut. Also very yummy.
